Dr. Anita Purohit graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Psychology before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1993. Dr. Purohit has lived and served the Oakland dental community for over 20 years, and continues to be dedicated to improving her patients’ oral health and well-being.

Inspired by her childhood dental experience, in which a dentist quickly relieved her pain during a toothache, Dr. Purohit was drawn to the dental world where she could offer that same care and relief to others. Her goal as a dental provider is to help patients keep their smiles healthy and functional so they can chew comfortably and confidently, for life.

Dr. Purohit stays current with the latest advancements in dentistry through regular continuing education. She also holds advanced laser certifications from the World Laser Institute and the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry.

Dr. Purohit is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Alameda County Dental Society. In her free time, Dr. Purohit enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with friends.
